Shabbat Considerations
We are grateful for the time and thoughtful partnership from several Jewish community leaders to help us ensure that our student conferences are accessible to all who want to participate.
The Sabbath is a holy day of rest and worship for Jewish people and is observed from Friday evening through Saturday evening. As our conferences are held on Saturdays, we commit to including the following features so that Jewish students and chaperones observing Shabbat can participate in this learning and community experience:
We will provide Kosher lunches and snacks for all who request them.
We will offer some workshops designed without the need to write, incorporate any technology (such as PowerPoints or screens), play music, or engage in future planning.
The conference agenda will label these sessions as “Shabbat Friendly.”
