Communication @AISL

As a student, your main ways to communicate will be through ManageBac, Student Portal, Email. News will be shared through the AISL Website and Facebook Page.

  • ManageBac for grades, homework, reports etc

  • Student Portal for student announcements and access to other links

  • Email for individual communication with teachers and students

You are expected to check your email at at the start and end of each school day.

How do I share an announcement?

In order to add something to the Student Announcements, please email Ms. Moss.

Booking Spaces @AISL

All spaces at AISL need to be booked in order to ensure that everyone knows what is available when. Please see the information below in order to help with reserving a space. If you have any questions, please speak to Maché or Sonia in the Secondary Office - they will know best!

How do I book the PAC?

Please contact Edwin Kamangala (ekamangala@aislusaka.org) who will talk you through the process.

How do I book the Protea Room?

Please contact Shantall Adonis (sadonis@aislusaka.org) who will help you arrange your booking.

How do I book a sporting venue?

For any sports venue queries (tennis courts, gym, pools, fields etc) please contact Christine Moono (activities@aislusaka.org) who will be able to check availability.

Technology @AISL

What is AISL's Acceptable Use Policy?

The technology resources services at AISL (Desktops, Laptops, iPads, network, cameras, printers, email etc) are designed to directly support and enhance the instructional program. It also functions to strengthen and enrich communication between and among all AISL students and faculty. By using AISL technology resources and services students will be held accountable to this policy.

Conditions:

  • The viewing or distribution of information or material that is obscene (disgusting and morally offensive), pornographic (sexual photos or movies), or derogatory (insulting and mean) to others will not be tolerated.

  • All forms of cyber bullying (harassing, teasing, intimidating, threatening, sending / posting inappropriate or hurtful messages through e-mail, chat, SMS, images or Web sites) are unacceptable.

  • Streaming / downloading large media files for non-instructional use during school hours are forbidden.

  • Users of AISL technology resources and services are personally responsible for compliance with Zambian law.

  • AISL technology resources and services may not used for private gain (to make money) or for political activities unless otherwise sanctioned (given permission by AISL Administration).

  • AISL will reasonably ensure personal data is secured.

  • AISL reserves the right to monitor and investigate any data on the AISL network to ensure maximum educational availability of AISL resources and services. ALL users are subject to the AISL Privacy Policy.

  • Plagiarism (copying or stealing other’s published work and using it as your own) of any material obtained from the Internet and used in schoolwork must have the source cited correctly.

AISL students who feel that they have been the victims of misuse of technology should not erase the offending material and immediately report the incident to a teacher or school administrator. All reports of harassments in cyberspace will be investigated fully. Sanctions could include, the loss of technology privileges, disciplinary action (suspension or expulsion). All students must read, sign and submit this AUP for a school email account, network user account and access to AISL’s online applications and services.

What do I do if I lose or break my device?

It is essential that you report a breakage/theft/loss immediately - failure to do so may mean that you will need to pay for a replacement device. Please complete the "I broke my iPad" Google Form or go to the IT Office as soon as possible.
