The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a rigorous two year (grades 11 & 12) pre-university academic programme that prepares students to be internationally minded global citizens.
An IB education is holistic in nature—it is concerned with the whole person. Along with cognitive development, the IB address students’ social, emotional and physical well-being.
They value and offer opportunities for students to become active and caring members of local, national and global communities; they focus attention on the values and outcomes of internationally minded learning described in the IB learner profile.
The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded students who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
Since its inception in 1968, the programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
The Diploma Programme prepares students for effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society as they:
• Develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
• Acquire breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, studying courses from six subject groups.
• Develop the skills and a positive attitude towards learning that will prepare them for higher education.
• Study at least two languages and increase understanding of cultures, including their own.
