This year the Region Choir took less students than ever so it was very competitive. I am so proud of EVERYONE that auditioned regardless of results. Every audition is fantastic experience.
Huge congratulations to the following who made the All-Region Choir! We had a school record 28 students make it!

How to practice with the cut:
-If you are still learning: sing with the vocal track twice, then sing with the cut with part being played on piano (if it's available for your part), then sing the cut with no help. Do that on repeat as many times as you possibly can
-If you are confident in your part: sing it with the cut track (no voice) as many times as possible. record yourself on your phone and listen to it. Are you doing dynamics? Breathing in correct places? Singing correct pitches? Listen for all of those things. Also, sing for your parents, siblings, or friends. IT WILL HELP!
Region contracts must be signed and returned to participate. All varsity choir members are expected to audition and attend the region camp. Unfortunately all-region is only open to 7th and 8th graders
Congratulations on making Gunn Choir History!

Results:
Auditions for the National Anthem were absolutely amazing! Every student who auditioned brought their best. I’m so proud of the hard work and courage each singer showed and the experience they gain with each audition. With so much talent, it was incredibly tough to choose, but here are the final results! More details about rehearsals to come.

All performers must fill out a waiver to perform on the court and can be done here . Please fill out your name on this form once you have completed the waiver.
Tickets can be purchased here!
-When: Nov. 19th. The game will be at 8:30pm but we will arrive early for sound check and seat assignments. I will let you know as soon as I have those times.
-Tickets: Everyone going (including the performers) has to purchase a ticket. Tickets are $66. Parents may also buy tickets so you can see the choir perform, watch a Mavs game, and help us with chaperoning. I will need to be in various places because of the performance so the more parents that come, the better!
The tickets are first come first served. After giving our families a few weeks to purchase the tickets, I will open it up to the rest of the Gunn JH staff.
Tickets for this event MUST be purchased online only.
-Auditions will be made up of two parts:
Behavior, participation, and singing during class

-If you would like to chaperone this trip, please email me at hhendri2@aisd.net, make sure you fill out the chaperone agreement in the packet I sent home, and apply to be an approved volunteer with AISD at this link.
