HOW TO TRY OUT
Must have a doctor's UIL physical delivered to the coach (it is preferred to turn in physicals prior to Aug. 16)
If coach is unavailable, the physical can be delivered to the athletic trainers in the MAC Center .
Must have all AISD pre-season forms filled out online through rankonesport/AISD prior to tryout.
Swimming must be double-blocked on your schedule if you make the team
1st Period Swimming/7th Period Study Hall
4th Period Swimming/10th Period Study Hall
Swimming experience is preferred BUT NOT required to tryout
Coaches will provide tips during tryouts to assist athlete with techniques and skills
If athlete makes team, they will be put into either the AM or PM training group
Students who move to Arlington mid-year may try-out during practice time. Contact the Coach.
MORNING PRACTICE GROUP (1ST/7TH PERIOD)
For current club swimmers and experienced returners
Must qualify for this training group
Practice from 6:15-8:15 AM Monday-Friday
Athletes must get ride to practice
Bus will be available to take athletes back to Arlington after practice or students may drive themselves to and from the AISD Natatorium if they are approved driver's via AHS
AFTERNOON PRACTICE GROUP (4TH/10TH PERIOD)
For athletes that are new to sport or have not yet qualified for AM group
Requires no experience to try out
Bus takes athletes from Arlington to AISD Natatorium at approx. 1:30 PM
Practice from 2:00-3:15PM Monday-Friday
Bus departs at 3:35 PM, returns to Arlington before 4:30PM
OUR SEASON
TRYOUTS - first two weeks of school
MEET COMPETITION SEASON - early October through middle of February, including training during the holiday break that is required
OFF-SEASON - middle of March and through end of school year - we still train, but there are more freqeunt break
