Title of Artwork: Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway

Medium: Acrylic paint (Raw Sienna), brushes of different size, a canvas

Artist Statement: The idea of my project was to draw the Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway where I actually walked with my mom and my brother when we visited Seoul, the capital city of Korea. Because that memory was one of my favorite memories in Seoul, I decided to paint the place on a canvas for the assignment. While painting, I tried to mix a different amount of white color and black color for each of the trees to show that the colors of the trees are all different. Additionally, for painting the leaves, I pulled up the brush and struck down, which helped me to draw the leaves in a constant shape.

Title of Artwork: Creativity

Medium: For this artwork, I used newspapers and journals, a big white paper, some makers scissors, and glue.

Artist Statement: The first idea of my artwork was to make a collage about winter but I decided to make it unique and interesting. I recycled some newspapers and cut out lots of pieces, then glued them on the background to make it “creative”. Then I drew a woman in the middle so that it could have an effect of contrast. Finally to make it even more based on my first idea I have glued some snowflakes everywhere to represent winter. In the end, I was really proud of how it turned out and that it turned out really creative and original (this is why the name of my artwork is “Creativity”).

Title of Artwork: The Laminator

Medium: This is a digital drawing made on a tablet.

Artist Statement: In my mind’s eye I pictured strange and fantastic creatures, sometimes beautiful, often grotesque. My work is an argument that ‘dark’ is not synonymous with ‘evil’; that there is nothing to fear in the night if you make it your own. After all, there is no light without the dark to define it. This is what my work defines.

Title of Artwork: “The Girl in the Clouds “

Medium: To do this artwork I used MedibangPaint (an online app on the computer to draw.) On the app, I used the airbrush and the pencil tools. Finally, I used different colors and sizes for the pencil and the airbrush. I also used my imagination to create the drawing.

Artist Statement: This drawing represents a girl in the cloud. Part of the goal of this artwork was to be able to add shadows to the drawing to make it look more realistic. In order to make that artwork, I started by drawing the outlines using the black pen tool. Then, I colored everything. After that, I drew the clouds using the white airbrush tool.

Next, I created shadows using the watercolor wet tool. To do the shadows I drew a line next to the part I wanted to make a shadow using a darker tone of the same color of the part I wanted to make a shadow for. Finally, I blur the girl using the white airbrush tool to make it look like she is behind another cloud.
