Buyer's Guide for BYOT

This guide is designed for families of our High School students only. We are currently in a time of transition. In school year 2023-24, students in grades 3-12 are expected to bring a digital device from home for use at school. This is called the "BYOT" model -- "Bring Your Own Technology".

Beginning in August 2024, students in grades 3-8 will be issued school-provided digital learning devices. Students in grades 9-12 will still bring their own device from home for use at school.

Before purchasing a device for your child, please take note of the range of devices IT will support at school. We have recommended devices that are fully compatible with the expectations and demands of AISC’s teaching, learning, software and support services.

When considering what device to purchase for your child, the most important factors are:

• The ability to have the device serviced in Chennai

• The validity of the warranty in India

• The suitability of the device to support the work demands at AISC

• The compatibility of the device with our classroom technology systems
