House of Science advances and promotes mathematical sciences and communication in Africa through its impactful outreach, capacity-building, and added-value enrichment programmes. 

Flagship Capacity-Building Activities

Africa Scientifique is a three-phased, unique programme designed to support and provide young and emerging African scientists, researchers, and academics with leadership, knowledge, and skills for impactful science communication.  It is jointly delivered in partnership with African Gong

Women Advancement Forum International Exchanges, Research & Academia aims to foreground and empower African women in mathematical sciences as leaders and agents for the advancement of their studies and career progressions across academia, research, and industry. It is jointly delivered in partnership with African Gong. 

Gender in STEM InHouse Mentoring aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters mentorship from caring senior students, facilitates networking with successful STEM professionals, including AIMS alumni, and actively promotes the participation of women and girls in STEM careers.

Added Value Enrichment Activities 

House of Science organises, co-hosts/participates in various events. The events include the Public Lectures Series, Exhibitions at Science Festivals, the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO), the Imaginary Exhibition and workshop, Pi-day /International Day of Mathematics, National Science Week, South African Women in Mathematical Sciences workshops, Job Shadowing, Social Media and Role Modelling Campaigns, Learner Advancement,  University students research/study visit at AIMS, etc.

To further enhance the House of Science's programmatic delivery framework, AIMS South Africa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with African Gong, the Pan-African Network for the Popularization of Science & Technology and Science Communication. The partnership allows the joint delivery and implementation of Africa Scientifique and WAFIRA programmes.
