FAFSA/ MN Dream Act

Attend our Financial Aid help event to get free, on-site professional assistance completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the MN Dream Act. Families will hear a brief presentation outlining eligibility,  steps, and tips to complete their financial aid before having time to work and ask questions from expert volunteers. Registration is not required for this event

Thinking About a Gap Year?

Americorps - Spend a year in service to others.  AmeriCorps volunteers strive to improve lives, foster civic engagement, and strengthen communities across the country. 

Verto Education - Spend a year traveling abroad at 1 or 2 Verto locations in Argentina, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, Italy or Spain.  Experiential learning through cultural immersion aligns with the potential of earning college credit.

Americorps and Verto will be at Anoka High School on Saturday, December 10 from 8:15-11:00.

Considering an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a program that trains you to become skilled in one particular trade or profession, whether it be hairstyling, plumbing, electrical work, etc. It typically combines classroom learning with hands-on work. 


Scholarships

Champlin Park Community Scholarship  Community Scholarships are scholarships ranging from $500 - $1500 and are sponsored by local businesses, rotary clubs, Lions clubs, principals, office staff, para’s, or community members themselves.They are also sponsored by families as a memorial to a former student, alumni groups or athletic booster clubs – to name a few. Community Scholarships are separate from the school-specific scholarships that CPHS awards. Such as – faculty scholarships, CDAA scholarships, LEO scholarships, CPHS departmental scholarships, etc. Some students will receive multiple awards. However, students will only receive ONE Community Scholarship.

How to Search for Scholarships in Naviance

Studentscholarships.org  18 scholarship programs available to MN students.  More than 850 Individual Scholarships will be distributed through these 18 programs.  Students from MN school districts are eligible for all the awards. 

Act Six - Act Six provides full scholarships and leadership training for emerging urban and community leaders who want to use their college education to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. 

AnnTalle Business Scholarship - The Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Anoka High School. The intent of this scholarship is to assist students who are pursuing a career in a business-related area. See Ms. Skaare in the Career Center for an application.  Deadline is January 17.

Wallin Education Partners Scholarship - This $16,000 scholarship opens on Nov. 1.  Students must attend a 4-year college, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and meet financial criteria to be eligible.

Wallin Education Partners Two-Year Scholarship - This $6000-$8000 scholarships is available to students pursuing their education at community or technical college before entering the workforce.  The application is available in the spring.

MNACC Bipoc Student Scholarship

MnACC provides dozens of one-time scholarships for students of color who are in pursuit of higher education at one of our 67 member institutions. Students who are awarded this scholarship will receive a one-time award ranging between $500 to $2,500 to be used towards their education during the 2023-2024 academic year. This year’s application opens December 1st.


Raise.Me Scholarship Program - RaiseMe is one of the easiest scholarship sources available and helps students in 9th – 12th grades discover colleges and earn scholarships for their achievements throughout high school including grades earned, participation in activities, volunteering, etc.  


Page Education Scholarship 

Awarded to students of color attending a Minnesota post-secondary institution. Students at all levels of academic achievement seeking to pursue a 2 or 4 degree at a Minnesota college or university and agree to complete annual service projects with children can qualify for a grant. Page Grants range in value from $1,500 to $2,500 annually.  The application opens in January, and the deadline for the scholarship application is April 1.
