Meet Mrs. Powers

Welcome to ELA7!

Anoka-Hennepin School District is not new to me! I grew up in Coon Rapids and went to Morris Bye Elementary, Northdale Middle School, and Coon Rapids High School. I've grown up playing at Lion's Park off of Hanson Blvd. and took dozens of trips to Cheap Skate along with the best of them! Today, I'm happy to be settled in to my 10th year of teaching at Coon Rapids Middle School. There's no better school, in my opinion, and I can't wait to share my passion for reading and writing with every student who walks through my door.

A few other facts about me are; I earned my bachelor's degree in 2005 and my masters in teaching in 2013. I am married to a great guy and we have a five year old named Kaleb, a three year old named Hudson, and an adorable Cockalier named Maximus. When I'm not planning great seminars and researching best teacher practices, I can be found hanging out on my deck, bullet journaling, or chasing my rambunctious boys around the neighborhood!

I can't wait to get to know every learner coming into my room this year. We are going to have a GREAT year!
