First Week of School

• Supply List: pencils, notebook and folder with 3 prongs OR 3 ring binder with loose leaf paper, earbuds, and more pencils. :D
• Most of our week is built around community. We want to create a comfortable, safe classroom environment. Learners will share a bit about themselves with their peers, fill out student inventories about themselves, color a collage about themselves, and more.
• One of my most exciting things this year is that I have found sponsors for EVERY one of my learners. These sponsors are purchasing one book a month for all learners in my classes. Learners will get to take these books home, read them, and keep them!
• We will go over the ELA Handbook throughout the week. This holds all the information about classroom policies for learners this year.
• All learners should add themselves to my classroom Google Classroom page. They will be using that as a resource for assignments and notes. This website will have some of that information too.

Unit 1: Characterization

Read "Duffy's Jacket" (Audio) and take the pretest.

Discuss Essential Standard 7.4.1.1, textual evidence with CLEMM, and the theme of Self-Discovery.

Do Personal Learning or attend Seminars to learn about the learning targets for this unit.
