2023 Leavers: destinations

Aylesbury High School Destinations - Summer 2023

Students from Aylesbury High School earned places at 65 different universities and colleges this summer, while others started degree apprenticeships or gap years.  See a much more detailed display outside the SFSC

Our whole focus is to help students identify their next steps, and then to support them as they achieve their goals.  That process begins long before Sixth Form, of course, but by Christmas of Year 12 we start to sharpen the focus on 'what next?'

A 'Is university right for me?' talk challenges those who have simply assumed that higher education will be their next step without knowing why, and an introduction to apprenticeships talk provides a valuable chance to reflect on alternatives to higher education.

Nevertheless, as the date below shows, most of our students choose to apply to university, either in Year 13 or in their Gap Year and we support all of them to find the right courses and institutions.  The fact that such a wide range of courses and institutions feature on the map below is testament to the research and determination of a cohort of students who were determined to properly identify their ambitions and who worked to achieve them.

A Wide Variety of Courses

The course choices our students make is very wide ranging and last year we helped students attain places on courses such as Film Making, Molecular Genetics, Journalism, Media and Culture, Liberal Arts, Football Business and Marketing, and Russian Studies.
