education matters

AHIE wants to design and develop a proactive and united body of learners whose aim is to flourish and succeed together. We do this by promoting global awareness and understanding, strength of character and innovation through education. AHIE seeks to foster solidarity and to encourage growth and achievement. We seek to Aim Higher, to better one another and to not lose sight of where we come from as great journeys are undertaken.

Thank you!

AHIE is a not-for-profit educational organization that runs its operations using grants, donations, microloans, and volunteers. Not only do we use donations towards the running of the organization, AHIE also uses donations to provide students that excel academically or who are in high financial need with scholarship moneys. We value and appreciate your contribution(s).

In the Works

3-Minute Reel: Real Talk on...

Reopening schools requires serious consideration by affected & afflicted communities. As a collective of educators, we’re grateful to be in the lives of our students & families as they navigate through politics in their quest for learning.

These 3-minute reels lets us hear from the communities themselves...those that teach, that learn, that head their household or have to do all three in these unprecedented times. Watch each reel on Youtube or Facebook.

E-Conference

Our eConference took place on September 15, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm EST.

eConferences are a forum of social engagement, dynamic trust and sharing of difficult conversations. As a collective of educators, parents, students, community leaders and change-makers, we seek to use this platform to connect, converse and share stories. Our eConferences are about Difficult Conversation and this very first is about Education and Equity Mindedness.

Hear the voices of a panel of international speakers offering their insight on the state of education and lend your own voice in a post-panel Q&A. AHIE seeks to offer an open and free platform for small local community members and representatives to address specific concerns within their community, and to offer an opportunity for participants to ask questions.

Stay tuned for the next conference!!!

e-forums

eForums are an extension to eConferences, but from a different lens. eForums represent shorter but impactful follow-up “conversations” presented on a monthly basis about the work being down in local communities; less theory and more practice so-to-speak.

eForums seek to pull in various local leaders/members to discuss how they have addressed these difficult topics in their workplace or community, what has worked, what has not and what how can a “regular” member apply social activism themselves to address inherent inequities that have surfaced in recent months.

AHIE has begun this project and will soon provide registration information for potential participants in Sept 2020.

x-pi learning box

Not all adults, parents or guardians are teachers and not all parents recall the content learning necessary to support their child at home. Interdisciplinary experiential learning activities designed for students with the parent in mind is a unique approach to education in the home. It can provide the means to which parents and students can better understand challenging information and material without feeling threatened or overwhelmed by technology or content.

The x-Pi Learning Box provides a way to tie difficult subjects such as reading /writing or mathematics for the new or older learner that has not recently spent time in a classroom.

AHIE has begun this project by selecting key experiments for their connection to common core standards and science topics.
