Course Objectives- The course objectives are to: (a) provide hands-on experience in measuring various, (b) develop gain proficiency in writing professional reports, (c) learn mechanical properties using sensors and data acquisition systems, (d) learn the process of preparing an experiment plan, (e) competency in interpreting instrument specifications and standards, (f) gain hands-on analyze engineering systems (g) perform an uncertainty analysis and interpret data, and (h) experience in making and operating an experimental set-up. Collection and analysis (8) gain experience in da' revisiting concepts from theory courses in a practical context.
Learning Outcome - Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to: (a) fabricate and analyze mechanical systems, (b) assemble an apparatus including interface with instruments and DAS, (c) plan and execute an experiment, (d) interpret data in light of uncertainties, (e) select an instrument for a given application, (f) relate the theory of core mechanical courses with practice, (g) calculate uncertainty in measurements and in the result, and (h) interpret and use information from measurement standards.
