Advent of Code is an annual set of Christmas-themed computer programming challenges that follow an Advent calendar.
It has been running since 2015. The programming puzzles cover a variety of skill sets and skill levels and can be solved using any programming language. There is an advanced version of this available at https://adventofcode.com/ .I usually get KS4 and KS5 to complete these challenges in their spare time so that it keeps their programming knowledge ticking over.
Mr Chambers is the Head of Computer Science @ Aylesbury Grammar School and wants to encourage all students to develop their problem solving. He recognises that students in Year 10 onwards may have the skills to attempt some of the questions which are on http://adventofcode.com but has made a more accessible version for KS3.
If you have any questions about the challenges, please drop me an email : - rchambers@ags.bucks.sch.uk
