The Au Gres-Sims School Rain Garden and Riverside Park Bioswale are examples of the place-based education approach of Au Gres-Sims School District. Students receive firsthand experience in the scientific process, as they investigate local environmental phenomena in Au Gres, MI. Coupled with collaboration and support from professional organizations, students create an action plan to address the issue of their choosing, using the democratic process.
