2019 Chicago Area Urban Forestry Career Development Event
Joliet Jr. College, Morton Arboretum, Chicago Area Agriculture Teachers (IAVAT), and Section 8 Illinois FFA invite you to participate in the Urban Forestry Career Development Event on October 16 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 pm at Morton Arboretum. This is an invitational event so all schools offering courses in Agricultural Education, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, and Botany are welcome to participate.
Arrival & Parking:
Upon arrival, notify the gate-keeper you are with “Forestry Career Development Event” and park in the general visitor parking area.
Event held in Cudahy Auditorium.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to participate.
- Each team shall consist of 3-5 students. Top 3 students count for top team score. There is no limit to the number of teams you may bring.
- Participants will not be allowed to handle plant or pest specimens.
- Teacher is required to assist in monitoring the time and grading tests while present
- Event runs rain or shine and parts will be outdoors. Dress and prepare appropriately.

No smart watches, headsets/earbuds, or smart phones are allowed during the event.
Feel free to arrive early enough to visit the arboretum on your own, but be in the Cudahy Auditorium no later than 11:45am to register. We will begin promptly at 12:00. Snacks will be provided in the afternoon.
