Design Process & Partners

N. C. A&T Extended Campus: Online offers academic programs two (2) course development processes; both require an interactive collaboration between faculty and the design partner. The faculty as Subject Matter Expert (or SME) shares course content with an instructional designer (ID) and works closely with the ID to determine and design the learning sequence and instructional activities. The SME exerts a direct influence on the learning content, approving and validating course design from the development phase to deployment in the LMS. These master courses were developed in Blackboard by the partner.

The faculty as developer process benefits faculty with deep online teaching and technology integration experience. Design partners provide coaching, professional development resources, and feedback as faculty identify and implement digital tools and approaches suitable for their courses. These master courses were developed by faculty directly in Blackboard.
