For your convenience, we've compiled information regarding fixed-wing and helicopter landing access at each of our properties. Helicopter landings often require pre-authorization from the pilot for safety and logistical reasons.
Here's a quick overview:
Fairview House (Plettenberg Bay): Fixed-wing aircraft can land directly. For helicopter landings on the lawn, pre-authorization is required.
Fugitives' Drift Lodge: The nearest airstrip for fixed-wing aircraft is in Vryheid. Helicopters can land adjacent to the guesthouse, subject to pilot pre-authorization.
Leopard Mountain Lodge: Fixed-wing aircraft can utilize the airstrips at Mkuze or Phinda. Helicopter landings are permissible within the reserve, pending pilot pre-authorization.
Makakatana Bay Lodge: The Hluhluwe Airstrip is available for fixed-wing aircraft. Helicopters can land near the lodge, with pilot pre-authorization required.
Three Tree Hill Lodge: Fixed-wing aircraft can land at LadySmith. Helicopter landings are possible at the lodge, contingent upon pilot pre-authorization.
Sungulwane Lodge: Fixed-wing aircraft can use the Phinda or, if necessary, the Mkuze airstrip. Helicopter landings are permitted within the reserve, subject to pilot pre-authorization.
