Volunteer Opportunities: Fun Run Committee
Responsibilities
The Fun Run Committee is responsible planning and executing our primary event of the school year, a fun/color run on a 5K course that is mapped across the shared campus of Apex Friendship schools.
Skills
Helpful if you either already have (or are open to learning!) - these skills are needed across all subcommittees, but you do not need to have every skill listed below:
Email: regularly communicating with various PTSA Board Members and Committee Chairs about their needs
Google Drive: navigate shared drive to locate files for sharing/posting
Many Fun Run Committee tasks can be completed from the comfort of your own home, and is also perfect if you are on the go a lot, but do have access to a laptop or your device!
It would be ideal to have at least 1 person work on each of the following areas, or find a a friend to do it with you and team up for a role!
Sponsorship: develop sponsorship levels/packages and create outreach plan to engage local/regional business to support the event; assist in the design of the Fun Run shirt with Sponsor logos on the back
Registration: manage participant registration process using our MemberHub/Givebacks portal (we can train you how!), monitor registration numbers, and coordinate with Communications to market event to students, families, and the wider community and encourage them to register to participate in the event
Marketing: coordinate with the Communications Committee for updating our website, creating and scheduling posts to our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and X/Twitter; and coordinating student-led coverage of the event
Event Staffing: in coordination with the Volunteer Chair and Student Representative Chair, assemble a team for day-of-event support including participant check-in, color station staffing, wayfinding
Chair: to coordinate between the Fun Run Committee members and the rest of the PTSA Board and other Committee Chairs
