Non-UK Qualification Requirements
AET Schools Teacher Training is delivered in partnership
with Ark Teacher Training.
Considerations for Non-UK Qualifications
To join any Initial Teacher Training programme in the UK, you must meet certain academic criteria set by the UK government.
If you obtained your high school or degree results outside of the UK, you will need to provide us with the following:
Evidence of your right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme. (Please note: we are unfortunately unable to sponsor candidates.)
Confirmation from ENIC that your degree is equivalent to a UK Bachelors degree with Honours.
Confirmation from ENIC that your school qualifications include grades equivalent to a level 4 (grade C) in GCSE Maths and English Language.
You will also need grades equivalent to a level 4 (grade C) in a Science subject if you would like to teach Primary.
Please be aware that we’re unfortunately unable to accept school qualifications that are equivalent to English as a second language at GCSE level.
What is ENIC?
The UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skills for the United Kingdom (UK ENIC) is the UK’s agency for recognising international qualifications and skills.
To prove that your qualifications meet the UK Initial Teacher Training academic criteria, you will need to get a UK ENIC ‘Statement of Comparability’.
To obtain a Statement of Comparability, please click here and follow the instructions.
