Meet the Team

I am the senior team link for Careers Education and liaise closely with the CEIAG team to ensure the Academy vision that 'The CCA Way leads to successful employment' is a realistic goal for every single one of our students.

I am also the senior link for sixth form, so I have the privilege of seeing many of our students make the transition from the world of education to the world of work or further study, using all of the qualifications, skills and experiences we have provided with them since they joined us in year 7 in order to be successful. I am extremely proud of the work that we do at CCA to ensure students stand the best possible chance of finding a career that they love and how we equip them with the skills they need to fulfil their ambitions.

My responsibility as the Careers Advisor is to provide students with quality advice and guidance to help them to make informed decisions about their future.  This is done on a one-to-one basis to ensure a personal and tailored discussion.  I work alongside year teams, tutors and other staff to support careers IAG through the curriculum and tutorial programme.

Another part of my role is to organise events such as our annual careers fair, mock interview day and work experience to enable students to gain vital employability skills.  I have created positive links with other agencies as well as local and national employers who support our students and provide their expertise through careers talks and events.

As the work related learning coordinator my purpose is to support students in employability-ready sessions and exploring suitable work placements that link with their vocational studies.  I regularly liaise with employers and companies, encouraging them to work with us in giving our students these vital work skills and industry experience that they will need to be successfully employed in the future.  Throughout the academic year I visit all students and support them in building a portfolio of skills they have been acquiring whilst volunteering with their employer.

From witnessing the many achievements of the students it has now become a passion to make sure we all, employers and our wider community, have a positive impact on bridging the gap between education an employability for the future successes of our students.
