Welcome to Transitional Kindergarten.
Please hold on to this packet as it will be an important guide throughout our journey together. In our TK program we will learn social and academic foundations through exploration and play. Research supports play as an important and effective approach to foster the development of executive function skills( IBO, PYP The early years program 2021). Play among children provides an appropriate environment for young children to learn at their own pace.
We value play for the following reasons:
Play is the way children grow, learn and explore.
Play provides opportunities for choice, personal interest and exposure to other concepts.
Students develop approaches to learning and IB learner profile attributes (for example communicators, knowledgeable, caring, self-management and social skills )
