On our Library homepage you can find many interesting digital resources, search for books, and even some coding links! Practice the language of technology!
Students in 3rd grade need to know the words linked above fluently, meaning - without hesitation. Frequent practice with irregular, high-frequency words allows them to add these new words to long-term memory faster. This supports the development of both their written and oral language. The lists increase in complexity - so, begin with List 1 and go from there.
Spelling Words:
Students will work on spelling words in class, but also through weekly homework. Tests will be short weekly quizzes.
Generic Spelling Letter Template -- students may use their own paper, as well, for this weekly homework. Try to include as many of the spelling words from the week in the body of the letter. Highlight/color/underline the spelling words and have fun writing a letter to your teacher - OR - to an imaginary recipient of your choice.
