Iowa Elementary and Middle School
Battle of the Books
Order by March 22 for Delivery by Competition Day
Central Rivers Area Education Agency's purpose in hosting Battle of the Books is to provide students 1) the opportunity to read high-quality, high-interest, diverse texts and 2) access to an award-winning author they can learn from and interact with. With these goals in mind, and based on past coach and student reader feedback, the planning team uses books from the Iowa Children's Choice Award list and Iowa Teen Award list.

Iowa Area Education Agencies (AEAs) were created in 1974 by the Iowa legislature to ensure equal educational opportunities for all children from birth through age 21. As regional service agencies, AEAs provide special education and school improvement services for students, families, teachers, administrators, and their communities. All Iowa AEAs are required to adhere to state and federal laws that prohibit discrimination in programs, activities and employment practices. For specific information, contact your AEA.
