Santa Catarina's guinea pig (Above)
The rarest guinea pig is the Santa Catarina’s guinea pig (Cavia Intermedia in Porchuguese). They’re located on a tiny Basilian island called Moleques Do Sul. It’s estimated that there are only about twenty-four to sixty left in the world. They’re involved with slow reproduction and small home ranges, adapted to island life.
Americans have short, smooth coats. They are social, and great for first-time owners
