Welcome!

The ADM Speech Team is so thankful for you! Thanks again for volunteering your time to make contest run smoothly! Please read the following information and check back often for updates. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the contest manager, Emma Bedard.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS:

Please report to the library at the beginning of your shift to check in and recieve your placement. 

• Morning (7:00 AM -  approx. 12:30 PM)

• Afternoon (approx. 12:00 - 4:00 PM)

ROOM CHAIRPERSONS and TIMERS

If you are interested in serving as a Room Chairperson or a Timer, you will need to attend ONE brief training meeting prior to the day of contest.  At this meeting, Room Chairs and Timers will receive specific instructions from Emma Bedard, Speech Coach and Volunteer Coordinator.  Room Chairs and Timers have a pivotal role in ensuring contest day runs smoothly, so we appreciate your willingness to serve in this area - WE NEED STRONG ROOM CHAIRS TO help contest work!

Training Session #2: Tuesday, March 5 ***VIRTUAL MEETING (7:00-7:30) Rm. 107

Training Session #3: Thursday, March 7 ***FOR CURRENT STUDENTS ONLY (12:10-12:40 PM) 

YOU ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE TRAINING SESSION. If you are UNAVAILABLE for the training sessions, contact Emma Bedard at emma.bedard@admschools.org

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES 

Room Chair

• Manages the performance center

• Announces performers

• Assists judges in ensuring performances running smoothly throughout the day

• Contacts the office with any questions/concerns

• Monitors the hallway to keep noise level down

Room Timer

• Times all performances inside a center

Front Table

• Greeting all visitors

• Sells programs and takes entrance donations

• Provides directions/assistance to guests

Concessions

• Helps serve food and/or handles money in the cafeteria/concession stand

Runners/Hallway Monitors

• Picks up and delivers ballots to home base

• Posts results in designated areas 

• Oversight in hallways to keep noise down

• Provides directions/assistance to guests
