Purwakarta, February 26, 2025 – Students, especially ninth-grade students of SMPN 1 Purwakarta, participated in a health screening event. This activity is part of the school's efforts to ensure students' health remains well-maintained while also enabling early detection of any potential health issues that need to be addressed. The school collaborated with the nearest community health center (puskesmas), which has been a regular partner in this program.
The health screening included measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure. Each student was examined individually by healthcare personnel from the puskesmas, assisted by members of the school’s Red Cross Youth (PMR). The collected data was recorded and later analyzed. The results would serve as a reference for providing recommendations to students or parents if further attention was needed.
This health screening is usually conducted every six months. The routine schedule is designed to monitor students' health development regularly, especially during their rapid growth period. Additionally, the activity serves as an educational opportunity to encourage students to adopt a healthier lifestyle. After the examination, healthcare personnel provide simple explanations to help students understand the importance of maintaining their well-being.
