Notable Details

  • 112 concurrent viewers to the Live YouTube Stream
  • 57 viewers stayed through the end of our 40-minutes Q&A
  • The Friday lecture ran with no problems at all, even from our partners.
  • King College Prep Cosmology Club accepted our invitation on Saturday, and had several students/families in the audience.
  • Beloit Regional Hospice received our headsets on time, and invited the Teenager’s family and friends over so they all could participate in the lecture.
  • As of Sunday morning (11/11) the YouTube Video had 550 views
  • On Saturday one of our members told Dr. Larson “This is the best astronomy lecture I’ve ever seen.”
  • The Astrolabe had a great deal of attention at the end of our Friday lecture, as did Shane. In addition to the 40 minutes of questions, guests stayed for an additional half hour in the welcome gallery asking Shane questions.
  • On Saturday, we have about 15 minutes of questions, and 20 guests stayed with shane in the Mission Moon gallery to continue asking questions for 30 more minutes.
  • Our Saturday lecture was sold out, for the first time!
  • Friday actual attendance was about 132, Saturday actual attendance was about 162.
  • Every dome partner who committed to the lecture actually showed up on the day of the lecture (the first time that’s happened in my tenure).
  • From a donor perspective it was a great success - two of the donors said it was the best lecture they experienced.
