Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for your student this year! At Thunder Vista, the staff shares a passion for interest-based learning. To bring our vision to fruition, we have created a Passion Project club that will meet weekly during Friday Advisory. As part of the club, we will provide students the opportunity to explore a personal passion of their own; building on personal competence, integration of technology, public speaking, and research. Club highlights will include:

• Introduction to Goal Setting
• Identification of individual student passion
• Project Planning
• Community Outreach
• Participation in the Passion Project Symposium

Requirements:

• If your student would like to participate in the club, we ask they stick with it. All students will be expected to meet each week and produce a project at the end of the year symposium.

We are so excited for our students to take ownership of their learning and build the skills they need to challenge themselves as learners. If your student would like to participate, the first meeting will be in Mr. Sutphin’s classroom on October 19th after they check in with their advisory class.
