About Mr. Golden

Ben Golden is in his second year as the Director of Bands at Shadow Ridge Middle School. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Mr. Golden began his musical journey as a trumpet player in sixth grade before branching out to french horn and double bass in high school. He earned his degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2024. Outside of teaching, he enjoys hiking the National Parks, watching Formula One racing, and caring for his four-year-old cat, Yuki.

In addition to his role at Shadow Ridge, Mr. Golden sponsors the Jazz Band and Orchestra. Mr. Golden also serves as a trumpet coach for the Horizon Hawks Marching Band. This summer, he was the head counselor for the CU Boulder Summer Music Academy.

Mr. Golden is dedicated to providing a positive and rewarding band experience for all students and their families. He strives to create a welcoming environment where every student feels encouraged to grow, explore their musical talents, and develop a lifelong love of music.
