Coach Marquez has coached football and track and field at the collegiate and high school levels in Colorado and Texas for most of his career in education.  John has served as a position coach; defensive coordinator, throws coach, and was the first Head Coach for Mountain Range Track and Field.  His former athletes include 2 state champions in shot put and several college throwers.  Coach Marquez is a USATF Level 2 Throws Coach and an NSCA certified strength coach, with an extensive background in speed and strength development.  Coach Marquez played football at Northglenn High School and Adams State University, where he was a 3 letterman and a 3-year starter.

David is a registered nurse working in the ER department at Saint Anthony North.  He was a high school 5A state champion in the pole vault in 2011 with a jump of 15’, and spent 4 years competing in the NCAA and competed at the national indoor championship in 2015.  In college he competed in the heptathlon and decathlon.  He is also about to welcome his first kid to this world with his wife Jenna!

Coach Mondragon will be entering his 24th year coaching Track and Field which includes 20 years as Adams 12 Head District Pole Vault Coach. Coach Mondragon has sent several student athletes to the Colorado State Track and Field meet over the years.  His goals are to continue training and supporting student athletes to be the best they can be both on and off the field.  Coach Mondragon routinely provides mentoring and support as the District Pole Vaulters navigate through sometimes challenging high school years.

This is my second year coaching for Mountain Range High School track and field.  I am USAFT level 1 coaching certified, and although I have personal experience running distance I will be helping coach where need this track season using what I learned from USATF.  I am one of our in building coaches, teaching Biology down in the science wing.  I am always ready to support and push our student athletes.
