Horizon Jazz Festival
Horizon jazz festival is not merely a celebration of music but places a strong emphasis on education. Our purpose of hosting a jazz festival this early gives your ensemble ample time to rehearse the concepts presented by our panel of judges and clinicians.
The 3rd Annual Horizon Jazz Festival will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, and
Thursday, November 14th.
Area middle and high school jazz band and vocal jazz directors, we invite you and your students to take part in this educational opportunity!
Each participating ensemble will be allowed a performance to an adjudication panel of 2 jazz educators. Following each performance, ensemble will receive a clinic from the same 2 jazz educators in a separate rehearsal room.
Entry fee for the Horizon Jazz Festival will be $290 per ensemble. A maximum of 16 groups per day will be allowed to perform. Admission for spectators will be FREE of charge. Deadline for registration and payment is October 31, 2024. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds due to transportation/mechanical issues. If we are able to reschedule an ensemble, we will do so in our performance lineup. There is no makeup day in the unlikely event the festival were to be cancelled.
Required and related forms (personnel sheet, repertoire sheet, maps, schedules and instructions) will available online and will be emailed to registering directors. We hope you will encourage your students to listen to the performances of other schools.
