Brief Bio
Dr. DiTullio holds a B.S. in Education (Music Education and emphasis in Performance) from Clarion University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. He has also completed the K-12 Administration Program for Principals through California University of Pennsylvania and holds an Education Doctorate from Northteastern University with a focus in Curriculum Leadership. Scott is the Director of Bands at the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Area School District (2005 - present). At Allegheny-Clarion Valley his duties consist of General Music and guitar, Jr. High Band, Sr. High Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Jr. High Honor's Band, Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Choir, the Falcon Brass Quintet, and Pep Band. He previously taught for nine years at the Clarion-Limestone School District where he served as the Director of Bands for grades four through twelve from 1996-2005.
Dr. DiTullio performs on trumpet in professional venues from Pittsburgh to Erie and as a soloist with many jazz and dance bands. bands. He is the founding member of the Clarion River Jazz Octet and the Clarion River Brass. He performs as a local soloist in many churches, and teaches private guitar and trumpet lessons. He is a member of The Corner Brass, a brass quintet in Clarion County, the Clarion University Jazz Band (lead trumpet and section leader), teaches private trumpet lessons, and serves as the district chairman for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 3 Jazz Festival. He has served as an ESS Clinician for the music education software programs Smart Music and Finale. He is the founder and director of the Clarion County Big Band, comprised of students from Clarion County High Schools.
Dr. D, is an active baseball nut. He has coached PA American Legion Baseball for twenty years, T-ball, minor league, Little League, All-Star teams, the Clarion Wildcats, and has served on the A-C Valley Baseball Coaching staff. In 2017 he started coaching and chaperoning on the Potter Baseball Summer Tour. The Potter Baseball Tour is a month long tour through Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania doing community service and playing baseball with youth aged 13 - 17.
Dr. DiTullio served as an adjunct professor at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA from 2012 - 2021; where he directed on the SVC Jazz Band, taught the Trumpet Studio, and was a consultant for the SVC Bearcat Marching Band and Concert Band.
