BEFORE THE CONFERENCE
BEFORE THE CONFERENCE
YOUR SPACE
Do a system check: To ensure your successful participation at the Conference, please check your system requirements here.
Dial in from a private space where you will feel comfortable sharing - No loud coffee shops or places where you will feel the need to censor or hold back in your participation.
Bring everything you need into the room with you - Leaving to get coffee refills or snacks is distracting! Bring everything you need into your space with you - imagine we have closed the doors and that we are all in a cozy space together. We will have set time for breaks during the session.
Show up - Like anything you take on, you will get out what you put in. The Selection Conference can be a profound experience to help you reflect and connect, surrounded and supported by a community that shares the same purpose. Be authentic, open, and bring your whole self.
Sit close to the screen so we can see your face. Do not sit with a window/light behind you or you will appear in a shadow. We want to see your smiling face!
Join the call from a computer and not from your mobile phone. Double check that your camera and audio works. It is important we hear your voice!
Have a Plan B for your internet.
YOUR PLATFORMS
We will be using two platforms throughout the Selection Conference; Zoom and Wonder.me
Zoom: If this is your first time using Zoom, please download ‘Zoom Client for Meetings' here. Below are some tips on using Zoom:
Please use a laptop. You can also have earphones if that will help you hear us best.
Make sure you have a stable internet connection and your laptop charger close by.
Please switch on your video so we can all see your face and connect as much as possible across the screen.
Wonder.me: We will use Wonder for networking during breaks or while you wait for your interview. Watch this short Wonder overview video or read the FAQs here.
Log into Wonder.me here
Like any online tool, make sure you have a strong internet connection
Only use your laptop (the platform is glitchy on mobile phones)
You will need to close your Zoom platform in order to use Wonder.me seamlessly.
Be open to meeting someone new! Just like an in-person conversation, if you feel like moving to another group anytime, just gently do so.
Click on your panel number below to locate the key timings for your group.
The Support Squad will be your point of contact for any questions, tech-related or otherwise during the Conference. You will be able to identify the Support Squad on Zoom as those who have “Support Squad” in their names.
