Immigration Check-In

Welcome to ACU!

All new international students must complete Immigration Check-In after arriving in the United States. 

Follow the steps below before your check-in appointment so everything goes smoothly. 

 Before Your Immigration Check-In 

1.Download & Print Your Most Recent I-94

-After you enter the United States, download your most recent I-94 from the official I-94 website 

*please print a copy and bring it with you to your immigration check-in

2.Set Up Your OISVS Portal Account 

-If you have not already created your OISVS Portal account, sign up using your ACU email address. 

3.Complete the New Student Immigration Check-In Request 

-Log into the OISVS Portal and carefully complete the "New Student Immigration Check-In" request.

-Make sure all information is accurate. You will need to provide your Abilene address, including your residence hall and room number if you live on campus, or         your full address if you live off campus.  

4.Review Maintaining F-1 Status

-Before your appointment, carefully read the "Maintaining F-1 Status" document. You will be asked to review and sign the document during the check-in. 

5.Bring Your Immigration Documents

-Please bring the following documents to your check-in appointent 

• Passport

• I-20

• Printed I-94

6.Attend New International Student Orientation

-Attendance at New International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students and is requires to maintain your immigration         status. 

-Orientation takes place during Wildcat Week and covers important information including:

• Maintaining your immigration status 

• Health insurance

• U.S. laws

• Cultural Adjustment

• American classroom culture 

• International student services and resources

-You will also have the opportunity to meet other international students and becalm familiar with ACU and the resources available to you.

Note: If you arrive after January 4th, simply make an appointment with Lucy Dawson by going to lld09a.youcanbook.me and discuss with Veronica Summers about the resources she also has to offer you. The check-in needs to be completed no later than August 25th.
