My name is Alisa Sepeda, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I began my academic journey at Hardin-Simmons University, where I completed my freshman and sophomore years, before transferring to Abilene Christian University for my junior year. I have taken several core courses in the field, including phonetics and audiology, which have become some of my favorite and most engaging subjects. I am passionate about continuing my education in hopes of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. I aspire to provide hope and support to children who face challenges due to communication disorders, helping to improve their quality of life and offering a strong support system throughout their journey. My decision to pursue the field of speech-language pathology stems from a deep desire to make a positive impact on others, and I believe this path is my true calling. Although I have not yet had the opportunity to shadow an SLP, I plan to begin this experience in the upcoming semester. In the meantime, I am actively seeking guidance and advice from several experienced speech-language pathologists to gain more insight into the profession and the steps required to become an SLP.
