So you decided on going the SLP Assistant route and feel a little intimidated? If so, that's okay we are here to help! Below we have put together resources and information for students who are looking to go the SLP Assistant Pathway.

STATE & ASHA RECOGNIZATION'S
It is important to know that State and ASHA recognitions are two separate entities where as one is a license (State) and the other is a certification (ASHA).
Obtaining State Licensure/Registration requirements vary within each state, but it allows you to work as an SLPA in the state you apply for.
ASHA certification is a voluntary, national professional credential that can be obtained as long as it is recognized in your state.
Below you can see whether your state recognizes SLP Assistants as a profession/position and if ASHA Certification is available.

For the states that recognize Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants, below we have included a list steps, forms, and requirements in Applying for your license. As a Texas school, we are able to easily navigate the information needed in acquiring an SLPA License. However, that does not mean we won't be helping out-of-state students. We will slowly, but surely, have every state available. Until then, help us help you, you can find our State Survey here. It will help us navigate what information in being sought out.
