Biological Sciences Coordinator School of Science & Technology
Short Bio
I am an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biotechnology and the Coordinator of Biological Sciences at Anatolia American University. My work is situated at the intersection of biotechnology, food safety, and public health, a focus shaped by my doctoral training at the University of California, Davis. There, I earned my Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry with a Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology, alongside Master’s degrees in Food Science and Preventive Veterinary Medicine. I also hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Aristotle University, Greece.
My scholarly contributions are reflected in a sustained record of publication in leading international scientific journals, with an H-index of 18 and over 1,590 citations. This research impact is complemented by extensive professional experience in the private sector, notably as a Microbiology Manager at Stanislaus Food Products in the U.S. and over a decade as an independent food industry consultant. By integrating advanced molecular methodologies—ranging from production of trangenic plants for stress tolerance to high-throughput sequencing of microbial communities—I develop evidence-based strategies to address critical challenges in agricultural biotechnology, industrial microbiology, and global public health.
