For three decades as an educator I have been committed to creating an environment in the classroom where understanding and learning can take place. An integral component of this endeavor involves devoting time and effort toward teacher-student engagement for success in the classroom. This includes exchanging ideas and different viewpoints in a constructive and meaningful manner, in a setting that encourages mutual respect, courtesy, and civility.
