Amount: limit the amount of words taught per lesson/unit, ideal: between 10-12 words. See How to choose key vocabulary by BridgeUniverse here.
Method: Teach the vocab at the beginning of the lesson or as words are found in your lesson. I do recommend you use the HRR method (see tip #1 below)
More Strategies: see Reading Rockets' highly practical tips here!
See the brief below with HRR method and more tips!
Access the slides and links here. With appreciation, Gre.

Listen to Nancy Cloud discussing Co-Teaching for English Learners (2:30) in the video below.
Co-teaching for ESL will start in Quarter 1 for both ES and ECE.
Please make time to see the 3 ELL co-teaching models described in detail on these slides (5 min reading).
ELL Checks will take place this coming week (August 16-20) to plan co-teaching.
The support model for ECE will be ELL co-teaching cycles (4-5 weeks per cycle)
KG3, KG4 and KG5 classes will rotate quarterly to receive ELL support (i.e. KG5 classes do one ELL co-teaching cycle each during Quarter 1)
ELL Co-teaching cycles will start first with KG5, second with KG4 and last with KG3 (dates to be sent to each team).
