Sight words are considered the building blocks of teaching literacy. Sight words can simply be defined by words that young readers will use often when reading. The words are commonly used words that do not follow the normal rules of spelling or the six types of syllables. Learning to read is a big task for young learners, and mastery of sight words at a young age aids in the success of reading development.
