This Thursday we invite you to our Ice Cream Social! It will be from 5pm to 7pm. This will be a student led tour! We will have a scavenger hunt guide for families to follow. Your child will introduce/talk about that station with you. There will be follow up questions in which parents can ask your children about. After the tour is done, we welcome you to make your way outside to the big playground to enjoy some ice cream and live music (the ice cream line gets super long!).
Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up on October 7th! We will be going over our BOY testing we have done with your child and answering any questions you may have for us! Each homeroom teacher will email their families with a sign-up sheet, so be on the lookout for that!
HOMEWORK: Sent on Mondays and students will have until Friday to turn it back into their homeroom teacher. It will consist of curriculum we have taught in class already, so students will go home with some background knowledge of the material. This homework is not graded and is meant to be practice for them and information to help you better understand what we are learning in class each week.
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?:
Fundations: recognizing the letter/sound as well as writing lowercase letters: t, b, f, m, n, i, u
Bridges Math: recognizing/writing numbers 0-5, one-to-one counting, building quantities up to 5
Wit & Wisdom/Science: continuing to explore our 5 senses
WEATHER CHANGE/SICKNESS: The weather is changing and temperatures have been starting to get lower. Please send your kids in appropriate clothing that will protect them from these cool/cold changes. If your child is sick, please consider letting them rest at home. With temperature changes, this brings sickness up and we are noticing a lot of coughs and runny noses starting. Reiterating to your child to keep their fingers out of their mouths and noses, as well as coughing/sneezing inside their elbows will help us tremendously so germs won't be spread.
Continued Reminders:
Please contact our office staff in regards to excusing your child's absences/tardies at claxton.office@acsgmail.net
Please remember to email our office staff AND your child's homeroom teacher/IA if your child's original dismissal plan that you have communicated has changed!
If throughout the school day you have a question or need to contact your child's homeroom teacher for information, we encourage you to please add our wonderful IA's to your emails or parent square as we are always moving. If there's a change happening or a question you need a response to immediately, our IA's would probably see it before us and can help.
We appreciate all the patience, grace, and support!
