Students in Ms. Baer's and Ms. Bunce's classes spent two lessons learning all about Llamas. On Oct. 21st, along with the EC class from AMS we went to the Llama farm. Students got to pet llamas, guide them through an obstacle course, feed them treats, and go on a train ride.
Reading, crafts, games, and seasonal events are just a few of the different ways AHS and SILSA students explore their community in the media center. there's room for everyone
Ms. Roger's women's history class participated in a creative writing project. Students had to research women in the Civil War: Nurses, Spies, Women on the Homefront, Enslaved people running away, Women soldiers. They had to come up with their list of 20 facts: Their Historical Integrity Plan. Then they had to create the elements of a story. They then plugged all of this into Gemini Storybook to create children's picture books. Students had to analyze their books based off a rubric.
During the month of October, we had the pleasure of hosting a student teacher, Lindsay Phipps. During this time she taught classes, helped with displays, and came along to the llama farm.
