English I Final Project: Introduction to Databases vs. Google: Students research a topic of interest to them/related to literature they have read this semester, and produce their own genre piece to be included in a group website or magazine. (Galvin, Montecalvo, Wingfield, Wiltse)
Read Aloud: Picture books! Students in Mr. Hughes AVID courses were guided through a lesson on how to select and read aloud a book to an elementary class.
Ms. Greener's English II classes participated in speed dating with books from various regions around the world. Then students used the MakerSpace to create a visual book report from the region they had selected.
In November, we explored different sensory items and worked on describing objects, then built with Legos. In December, we read a story about the Gingerbread Mouse and made gingerbread houses out of paper. In January, we used Virtual Job Shadow to explore careers that students showed interest in.
Retro Arcade Challenge: In December our DLT, Kyle Kett, created a staff challenge to see who could get the highest score on Ms. Pac-Man during their planning periods.
Students from the National Art Honor Society painted the arcade.

Clare: *SSR Selections, Booktalks, and Catalog instruction: Students came in for a catalog refresher, booktalks on newly published books and checked out books for SSR.
Wingfield, Turkel & Wiltse: *Reading, Renewal, Checkout: Students came into the library to select books they wanted to read.
Talarico: *Research Instruction: Social Issues
VanCleve: *Booktalks, Themed Selection: Economics and Finance books: Students were given a variety of Economics-related books to choose from for class reading.
D. Williams: Brochure Printing: Students created brochures for genetic disorders and then we assisted in the printing process.

Greener: National English Honor Society Blind Date with a Book promotion
AHS Preschool class participated in a Spooky Walk and walked around campus to show off their costumes.
