at Ripton Elementary School
We are happy to announce that despite the unfortunate closure of the Ripton Elementary School,
the Ripton Ridge Run is still happening!
Although we no longer have a school, we still have students to support! Race proceeds will continue to go to FORS Inc., formerly Friends of Ripton School and now renamed Friends of Ripton Students.
Please support them as they support us!
THE RIPTON RIDGE RUN is an annual fundraiser to benefit the Ripton Students, put on by Friends of Ripton Students, Inc. The race includes a 5K run, a 10.4K run, and a non-competitive 5K Fun Walk. There is also a short, non-competitive Kids Race for young children. The Ridge Run takes place on the Sunday of Indigenous People's weekend. All courses start and finish at the Ripton Elementary School at 753 Lincoln Road in Ripton, VT. The race courses traverse roads in Ripton and the Green Mountain National Forest and include water stops.
Funds raised from the Ridge Run enable Ripton’s students to have enrichment programs, recreational opportunities, materials and community activities not possible within the regular school budget. The efforts of 50+ volunteers and many generous sponsors are central in making this annual celebration of Ripton and its students such a success, and nutures our students' sense of belonging and community. Please join in - run, walk and/or volunteer! We can use your help as a volunteer in many different ways, not just on the day of the race. There's bound to be a role that fits you!
