Among the course readings are philosophical and historical works of ancient Greece, the Enlightenment, the Romantic period and the early 20th century. The art historical component includes representative works from Ancient Greek, Neoclassical, Romantic and 20th century artistic movements.
Field Study: As a culminating activity, the course offers an optional field study tour in France which includes visits to Paris, Chartres, Versailles, Giverny and Auvers-sur-Oise. Deatils to be announced.
The program is open to students in grades 9-12. Students will be graded on the various course activities. Students will earn a total of one high school credit.
