"Take steps to actualise your vision today!"
About this subject
Art at 'A' Level offers students a comprehensive curriculum in art, balancing art making and art historical and theoretical studies. Through the study of the H2 Art course, students develop fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of art and its connection to the real world. By developing visual literacy, critical faculties, and dispositions to engage in sustained practice, the H2 Art course prepares students to become active artists and informed audiences.
The H1 Art (8879) curriculum is designed as a subset of H2 Art (9357) and consists of only the Art discourse module.
Art @ ACJC
Art at ACJC is a unique and liberating experience where students can literally "do whatever they want to actualise their vision". Our curriculum is customised to the interests and abilities of each student, and aims to stretch their potential through embracing inquisition, independent research, and guided risk taking!
At H1 level, students develop professional art critique skills through the Art discourse module, analyzing and evaluating artworks in various cultural and historical contexts.
At H2 level, students are empowered to embrace an art portfolio practice rooted in the S.E.E approach (Sensing, Experimenting and Evaluating), fostering a culture of curiosity, independent research, and creative risk-taking, and allowing them to embark in their own Art making journeys.
At the end of their journey, graduates showcase their body of work through SONDER, an annual exhibition at our very own art gallery.
