What is Tri- M Music Honor Society: Tri-M, once named the "Modern Music Masters," is the international honor society for music students in junior and senior high schools. It is a program of NAfME: The National Association for Music Education, an association of over 85,000 music education professionals nationwide who realize the importance of motivating students and recognizing music achievements.

Why Should I Apply?
It is an honor! It looks great on a resume for college or scholarships.
You are eligible for scholarships through Nafme.
Get a tri-m t-shirt to wear at community service events.
You get a pin to wear at graduation and other events.
You get honor cords to wear at graduation (that you may keep).
You get a certificate and membership card.
If you graduate with a 3.0 or higher you get to wear a stole to graduation (that you must return).
What Do I Do to Become a Member?
Tri-M is an honor society and membership does have specific criteria for Musicianship, Character, Service, Leadership, Scholarship, and Attendance. Review the criteria, and self-screen for eligibility, then complete the application to begin the process. Once achieving Tri-M membership, each student is expected to continue to meet the Tri-M criteria, or membership will lapse until those standards are once again met. Because many of you are in other areas of the Academy, you may include plays or recitals into your application. Not all applicants will be accepted, but you can continue to try each year.
