International Women’s Day takes place on Wednesday 8th March and some of our Careers Week activities will be celebrating it.
It stands for a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
It’s aim is to celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.
For IWD23 the theme is for us all to fully #EmbraceEquity.

INTO FILM
Storytelling is a significant form of activism that can spark passion and a desire to create change. Into Film has put together a collection of films, teaching resources and events for International Women's Day to help get you started exploring issues and inspire. From stories of large-scale historical movements seen in Suffragette, to unpicking female representation in teen films such as Clueless and 10 Things I Hate About You. Documentary films in particular, such as He Named Me Malala and I Am Greta, can transform lives by raising awareness, creating access to parliamentary lobbying, and inspiring both local and global sustainable change.
